Chief Executive Officer

Bob Stieg is a senior cultural resources and behavioral health care executive with over fifty years of experience in organizational development, marketing, government relations, financing and operations. Formerly CEO of the Grafton Integrated Health Network and of Foundations for Home and Community, Stieg began as CEO of The Clermont Foundation (then the Clermont Charitable Trust) in 2006. His experience working on state boards and commissions under six Governors of Virginia has helped advance Clermont’s development as a state-owned, non-profit operated historic site. He was educated at the School of Foreign Service, Georgetown University, and at the Facultés Catholiques de Lyon (History), and is a recipient of the Virginia Sherman Award for Significant Contributions to Historic Preservation in Virginia from the Council of Virginia Archaeologists.

Office Manager

Jessica Channing joined the Clermont Foundation as Office Manager in December 2024. She brings strong experience in operations, HR, and project management, and especially enjoys connecting people with Clermont’s history and community programs. Dedicated to supporting events and enhancing visitor experiences, Jessica is also an animal lover who appreciates the unique opportunity to work in a setting where history, community, and nature come together.

Farm Manager

Jack Kahler grew up on his parent’s farm in Frederick County, MD. He was educated at Walkersville High School and Frederick Community College. Active in FFA, he came to know a number of farm family members in Frederick and Clarke (Clermont) Counties in Virginia. He worked on his family farm with a 130-head dairy herd from which the family sold stock all over the world. They moved to sheep, 700 head, and then to corn and soybeans; his sons now own the family farm. Jack began part-time at Clermont in 2022 and became full-time in 2025.
